Audrey Hepburn’s Timeless Swiss Villa: La Paisible
Audrey Hepburn was a timeless beauty, and her Swiss villa in Tolochenaz is no exception. The villa, named La Paisible, was Audrey’s home for over 30 years. It’s a stunning property that has been beautifully preserved despite being left uninhabited since Audrey’s passing.
The villa sits on three acres of land and overlooks the stunning Lake Geneva. It features six bedrooms, five bathrooms, a library, two kitchens, and several living areas. The house also boasts an outdoor pool and tennis court.
One of the most interesting things about La Paisible is that it has remained largely unchanged since Audrey lived there. From the furniture to the decor, visitors can see how Audrey designed her home to reflect her personality.
Audrey was known for her love of animals, and she even had a small menagerie at La Paisible that included dogs, cats, donkeys and horses! There is still evidence of this around the property where one can spot stables which have now been converted into garages.

One of our favourite parts about exploring this property is spotting little details here and there which reflect some aspect of Audrey’s life or taste. For instance: did you know she loved to paint? There are several original paintings hanging on walls throughout the house!
Another fascinating detail we noticed during our visit was how many books line nearly every wall in this charming abode – with titles ranging from classic literature like Shakespeare to cookbooks which show off Hepburn’s culinary skills.
Speaking of cooking, Audrey was known for her love of food and entertaining guests. In the kitchen, we could see that she had everything from copper pots to a white Le Creuset dutch oven – all perfectly arranged in the way only someone with an eye for design could manage.
If you’re lucky enough to visit La Paisible during summer, make sure you take some time to relax by the pool which is surrounded by stunning views of Lake Geneva. It’s clear that this villa was designed not only as a home but also as a place where one can escape into nature.
