Here are eight essential guidelines that every worker or explorer should follow:
1. Wear appropriate clothing and protective gear
Urban exploration often involves navigating through dark, damp, and dusty environments with sharp objects, loose debris, and hazardous materials lying around. Make sure you wear sturdy footwear with good grip soles to prevent slipping or falling over uneven surfaces. Also, don’t forget to put on gloves, masks or respirators (if the air quality is questionable), helmets (if there’s a risk of head injury), eye protection (in case of flying debris), and reflective vests for visibility.
2. Conduct thorough research beforehand
Before venturing into any structure or building site, make sure you have done enough research about the location in question: its history, current status (whether it has been condemned or not), structural integrity assessments if possible from experts in the field etc.).
