Dams: A Tale of Progress and Peril

Dams have been an integral part of human civilization since ancient times. However impressive these achievements are there are inherent issues associated with building large-scale dams especially when affecting natural habitats or even displacing entire communities from their ancestral homes- often leading to socio-economic imbalances within societies affected by such projects over long periods.
