There is something eerie and fascinating about deserted financial offices. In another city, I visited an old insurance company headquarters that had closed down due to mergers and acquisitions. This office was more ornate than the first – grand marble pillars lined its entrance while gold-leafed accents adorned walls and doorways throughout the building. However, like so many other abandoned structures, it too sat empty, collecting dust on desks that would never again see a day’s work.

Despite their abandonment, these offices offered glimpses into the past lives of those who worked there – from family photos left behind on desks to motivational posters still hanging on walls. Each space seemed frozen in time yet filled with stories waiting to be told.

In one instance, I nearly fell through a decaying staircase while exploring an old bank building that had been converted into condominiums before being abandoned during construction.
