“Clean Up Your Act: Tips for Responsible Urban Exploring”

If you’re an urban explorer, you know that one of the most frustrating things about exploring abandoned places is dealing with the trash and debris left behind by previous visitors. From empty beer bottles to old mattresses, it seems like some people treat these forgotten buildings as their own personal dumpsites.

But for those of us who are determined to explore these forgotten places despite the mess, there are a few things we can do to make our experience more enjoyable (and less gross).

First and foremost, always wear gloves when handling any trash or debris. You never know what kind of bacteria or other nasties might be lurking in that old mattress or pile of broken glass. Plus, wearing gloves will help protect your hands from cuts and scrapes.

Another tip is to bring along a few garbage bags with you on your exploration. Not only can you use them to gather up any loose trash you come across along the way, but they also provide a convenient place to store your own garbage until you find a proper disposal bin.

And speaking of disposal bins – if possible, try to dispose of any trash and debris properly while you’re out exploring. If there’s a nearby dumpster or garbage can, take advantage of it! Not only will this help keep the area clean for future explorers, but it’s also just common courtesy.

Of course, sometimes no matter how hard we try there’s just too much trash and debris for us to handle on our own. In these cases, it might be worth reaching out to local organizations or groups that specialize in cleaning up abandoned areas. These groups often have access to tools and resources (like heavy-duty garbage bags and gloves) that can make cleaning up easier and safer.

At the end of the day though, perhaps the best thing we can do as responsible urban explorers is simply lead by example. By taking care not to leave our own mark (or rather – our own trash) behind us as we explore, we can help encourage others to do the same. And maybe, just maybe, we can help make exploring abandoned places a little less gross for everyone involved.

So next time you’re out exploring an abandoned building or forgotten space, remember – take care of the trash and debris so it doesn’t take care of you!
